Project/Activity brief and purpose:
This project aims at implementing a multidimensional public sensitization campaign to raise awareness of the urgent need for peace in South Kordofan and to promote action for peaceful coexistence. It also seeks to put people from South Kordofan in direct contact with those in Khartoum; reflect public messages supporting peace from both locations, and sensitize people in South Kordofan and Khartoum to Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration (DDR), Community Security and Small Arms Control (CSAC) and women’s rights. Main activities include a multi-media outreach campaign, a large free concert to be held in Khartoum on 30th August and community outreach comprising theatre, community radio and public events in five places in South Kordofan. The project hopes to contribute to a more vibrant, outward-looking, informed and peaceful cultural scene in Sudan.
Key activities:
Specifically SUDIA will; arrange a Project inception workshop, organize and deliver a ‘Mobilize for Peace’ concert/festival in Khartoum, design and implement an outreach campaign in South Kordofan, and continuously conduct monitoring and reporting.
