Where the money goes:


Project/Activity brief and purpose: The main purpose of the project is to promote fair and transparent elections in Sudan by supporting the Sudanese media in informing and raising the population’s awareness of the 2010 election process. The project seeks to –

•   To provide neutral media monitoring in the context of the 2010 election in Sudan by screening audiovisual and print media outlets and issuing alerts and analyses on their reporting

•   To implement election-related training for journalists at national and state level

•   To build the capacity of journalists and media houses in Sudan in term of training, in particular training in election reporting 

Key activities: Training of 150 Journalists in elections reporting and coverage; Training media monitors; setting up and managing a media monitoring unit in Khartoum; monitoring Sudanese media before, during and after the April 2010 election.
