On September 2nd, the president declared a state of emergency in Blue Nile State and removed the governor from office. Tensions remain high, SPLM North’s offices in Khartoum have been shut down, and as many as 16,000 people thought to have fled their homes over the border to Ethiopia. SUDIA’s project participants are affected by unrest and displacement, unfortunately forcing our efforts of implementation to a temporary stand still.
