The Social Reintegration Project targeting ex-combatants in the two Blue Nile State villages is now coming to its end. Several successful social mobilization activities have been carried out recently, among others sports and theater events and a concert from which you can catch a glimpse if you click on 'more' and scroll down the SUDIA blog. Due to recent outbreak of violence and increased military presence on the ground Zariba village in Kurmuk locality had to be cut out of the program. Two SUDIA representatives attended a DDR-related workshop in the Burgh al-Fateh Wednesday the 17th of August. The idea behind this UNDP led initiative was for Implementation Partners (IPs) to share their experience and the lessons learned so far in the field of DDR in the Sudan (and elsewhere).

To this end we are constantly expanding our network of partner organizations which can act as 'lending outlets' and increasing our loan capital through partnerships with Banks and the Private Sector.
